I think ladradors are the best as they are kind and rather smart.

Best for what? For me, dogs have their "line of expertise." Bullmastiff, Doberman Pinscher, Rottweiler, and German Shepherd are the best dogs for security. Golden Retriever and Labrador are the best breeds for kids/family. So you see, it's kind of hard to decide.
For me Terrier Group works the best. Bull Terriers, Scottish Terriers and West Highland White Terriers are all part of this group. They were originally bred to hunt vermin or to fight. They can make very good pets but socialization and training is imperative as they can get very defensive over their territory and belongings. They require a moderate amount of exercise, if they bored they may start to chew or bark.
Toy Group is the best for me and my kids. These dogs are all very small, they are always a sensible choice for older people as they require substantially less exercise than other larger breeds and can live in a smaller space. They are a very faithful friends and make a great companions for life. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Toy Poodle, Pug and Chihuahua are all part of the toy group.

i have a sheltie and an aussie. i think we're sticking with the herding dogs. they're just awesome...
Personally, I would choose a German Shepherd. They are very smart dogs, and their families is also very loyal. Any youth made from another animal, they will with it, so that the cat should not be a problem. I also think it is very beautiful German shepherd dog.

I really like Labrador retriever and Pomeranian they are so friendly and very lovely in a way, they just really like to be pet and perform where it seems like they have all the increase power all day long.

It seems like an excellent type for you would be the pug. This type dog breed a lot of power but are very obedient pets as well. It seems like an almost ideal fit for your way of life and the pets as well.
Rottweiler dog breed, This types dog breed a lot of power but are very obedient pets as well.

I like German Shepherds as they are very energetic and intelligent dogs. They are protective and at the same time friendly with the families. In addition they do not respond with anger.
