Crawling means that it is where search engines robots move from web page to web page by following the links on the pages. While Indexing means that it is where search engine has crawled the web and ranks the URLs found using numerous considerations and places them in the database, or index.

Crawling is an activities of Collect the data for a particular site and stored in to particular data base doing by google crawler. Indexing means Google crawler come on to your site and collect all the data of all the urls of your site and stored in to its database.

Crawling and indexing both things is the best options of Google. Google first cache URL or blog with the help of site-map and next process is crawling and finally indexed it on own server.
