    Carbs Vs Proteins.

Carbs are very useful in losing weight. They provide energy for the entire body. And for those men looking to lose weight, restricting the amount of carbs in a diet forces the body to break down fat for energy instead of carbs. This in turn can lead to greater weight loss and reduce appetite while Protein allows men to build strong muscles and bones and is key for growth and immunity.

Carbs are the main source of energy for the body and heavily restricting them causes drowsiness, lack of energy and loss of focus and productivity. To lose weight and maintain it long term you should not restrict any food group drastically, each meal should contain a balance of protein, fat and carbs, it is the combination that will keep you full. You will lose weight if you eliminate carbs (or fat) but you will not be able to mainain such a diet for long and when you start eating carbs again you will gain that weight back fast.

Carbohydrates and proteins are both vital for good health. Each of these nutrients plays a unique role in building and maintaining a healthy body.

Without carbohydrates, your body dips into its’ own energy sources to keep your organs functioning properly. When this happens, your body goes into a starvation mode, which makes it even more difficult to keep weight off. Even if you lost weight by eating a high protein diet, as soon as you eat carbohydrates, the weight will come back quickly and even twice as much. You can't live your life without eating a single carb, so realistically eliminating them completely will not last a lifetime. In addition, a high protein diet can increase your risk for heart disease and raise your cholesterol, due to the added meat most people consume.

All in all, for effective and permanent weight loss, stick to a balanced diet of protein, whole grain carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables and dairy. By controlling your portion sizes, reducing your calorie intake and increasing your physical activity, you will be able to keep the weight off for good!
