The very first thing I really like to do is to get as little sleep as practical the evening before I fly, this way when I'm able to the aeroplane I will hopefully just fall asleep and awaken at my destination. If you've got to drive for five hrs first you might like to get a good night sleep, and perhaps take some Tylenol pm or something else to make you sleepy. My next tip is to get to the airfield three hours ahead, this is for two reasons.
The other reason for always getting t the Air port at least three hrs before your flight is, if you check in early you cant get bumped from the aeroplane, the folks that get there last minute sometime here the words overbooked.
