How can a child ask for help when her own mother is abusing her?

The child says her own mom physically and emotionally abuses her , she punches her and starves her and kicks her , and she can't seem to fight back. Her mom tells her she is ugly and disgusting , she tells her that she's not worth a dime and that she's so lucky that she hasn't killed her . She always locks her up in the broom closet too . And her family doesn't have a clue , when they ask her why she has bruises her mom answers them and says that she's really clumsy and bitchy . What should this child do?

She should ask for her teachers help, i'm pretty sure her teacher would help her file complaints against her mother, poor child she must be really suffering a lot to have such kind of mother you must create an immediate action regarding with this matter before its too late. The child must be really terrified and traumatized with such kind of situation.
