Lot of people say in 2012 there is end of world. Is it true? if true then how it possible?

so i think that in 2012 we will face with some kind of disaster but not with the end of the world.

The calendar that these people are talking about is a very specific Mayan calendar. The Mayans were a civilization known for their astronomy and intricate (and accurate) calendars. Most of their calendars do not, however, record a 2012 end of the world.
