i gives you some details about Christmas

    What Makes Christmas Important?

    IS IT THE DATE?

Some mistakenly think that December 25th was the day Christ was born. The honest truth is, that no one is exactly sure when Christ was born. The Bible is strangely silent on the issue!

Let me share with you some interesting historical notes. Did you know that the Apostolic and early churches did not even celebrate the birthday of Christ? The only recognition of his birth that I have been able to find was a century after Christ had ascended to heaven. An early churchman from Rome urged the people in his congregation to sing musical prayers, praising God for the birth of the Lord Jesus. No specific date was connected with his encouragement.

It is curious to note that Eastern Orthodox Churches believe Christ was born on January 6th and Armenian Churches celebrate his birth on January 19.

One Bible Scholar, Frank R. Klassen, believes that Christ was born on April 1, 5 B.C. In fact it is his theory that this accounts for "APRIL FOOLS' DAY," because those who remembered Christ's real birthday were heckled as "APRIL FOOLS."

Is that possible? I can tell you this from my research. .. No one is able to determine the origin of April Fools' Day! It IS possible, yet no one knows for sure.

CONSIDER WHY CHRIST MAKES CHRISTMAS IMPORTANT

The "Greatest Gift" of Christmas is Christ. Matthew 1:21 tells US why -- "...call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." Again in Matthew 1:23 we find that he was to be called EMMANUEL, which means "God with us." Christ was born of the Virgin Mary as God in human form to save us from the guilt, penalty, power and ultimately the presence of sin. This is why the Apostle Paul referred to Christ as the "Unspeakable Gift" in 2 Corinthians 9:15. Even the Apostle John tells us why Christ came ". . .the Father sent the Son (Christ) to be the Savior of the world (mankind) . . for God so loved the world (mankind),that he GAVE his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." I John 4: 14 and John 3:16. Dr. Luke wrote "For unto YOU is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:1 1. Christ is the ONLY Savior! Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

How pity... Sorry guys.. some wer in wrong mode to attain a question like this to answer.. I do agree the fact that, its not exactly dec 25th. But it was in between nov 25 to mid jan. You might probably know the jewish calender and may have so many filthy articles blame on. Thats never hurt a true christian.

Christ is the only one in the world, the son of god. You may not realized the many people said to be gods have never came anyway nearer to lord Jesus in any kind of values, authority or the love to show.

I simply Pity. Even I hate christians for how they are living as they were listening to the word of god, and still baring a bad name. Yes, Jesus is the holiest. Noone else like him born before and wont born again. 109 prophecies foretold in ages has came true in his name, where not even a single prophecy been left alone happened. Can you just imagine the probability of 109 prophecies can be fulfilled. You dare, if you can figure out the number.

Please, do not lose your words unless you are born again. TRUTH PREVAILS friends.

Christmas is important for us Christians, especially Catholics because it was taught to us that it's the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.. We celebrate Christmas with the start of a 9 days Mass which ends on Dec. 24.. This is also the time for us to celebrate Noche Buena at 12 midnight with the family.

It is believed that Dec 25th is the date when Jesus was born. Many people oppose and I can't blame them. It's a human nature especially those who are skeptical to question about this info. Just one thing, similar to my faith and belief with Jesus, I don't need to see HIM to believe. I don't need facts and evidences. My belief is bounded my faith, so I can even celebrate Christmas every day not only on December 25th.

I really agree. Christmas is a special day because it is the birthday of our savior Jesus Christ. It is also the time for sharing and also giving to other people. This is the perfect time to have a bonding with your family.

We have always celebrated Christmas as the birth of Jesus Christ. Although the Bible doesn't give us a specific date of Christ's birth, most Christians celebrate Christmas as such. It's a time of great rejoicing. We celebrate the birth of our Savior!

However, in more recent years Christmas has become more of an American thing, as opposed to just a Christian holiday. A bigger deal is made of Santa Claus, reindeer and other festivities.
